Introduction

People are talking about “5G technology” and you notice them by saying yourself that what is unique about this technology as everyone wants to talk about it. Today its is one of the hottest topics in technological world. But why? Is it something about the speed of the network or more than it?

4G is now still with us, so why we need another 5G technology? It is said to be that this technology will help more than 4G. But how? We already have a trustful 4G technology which is sometimes not capable of work so fast but we adjust to it, right?

Well, 5G is more than that, because now a day’s people do not want to stuck in any work due to the failure speed of a network.

I am not only talking about the country-side but all over at a global level, everyone wants to speed up their work, they want to save their time, and want to create more and more outputs.

I am going to show you the world of 5G technology. Stay with me on this short trip to gaining new technological information.

What Is 5G Technology?

Today’s mobile users want faster data speed and more reliable service. After years of work and researchers technology created a 5G speed boots technology. The technology is supposed to change your life with its revolutionary speed and responsiveness. But before we get into that it is important to know what is it?

It is the next 5th generation of cellular wireless technology that shakes up the world of the internet. This latest wave will multiply the speed and capacity of the network, which not only enhances the development of digital society but also all the technologies such as Artificial Intelligenceand “Big Data”. 5G has been designed to meet the very large growth in the data and connectivity of today’s modern society.

Is it just about speed? Actually no, In addition to delivering faster connections and greater capacity, a very important advantage of 5G is the fast response time referred to as latency. Well, latency is the time taken for the devices to respond to each other over the wireless network. It also enables connectivity to billions of devices, the internet of things(IoT), and a truly connected world.

It looks interesting right? But how this technology is able to work so fast? The answer is below.

How Does 5G Work?

5G used the Super-High frequency spectrum, which has a shorter range but higher capacity, to deliver a massive space for online access.  Due to high frequency, it carries out the information faster.

The technology will also use smaller transmitters. It is placed on buildings and streets as opposed to using a single stand-alone transmitter. Current estimates say that 5G will be able to support up to 1,000 more devices per meter than 4G.

5G technology will also be able to cut a physical network into multiple virtual networks. This means that operators will be able to deliver the right segment of the network, depending on how it is being used, and thereby better manage their networks.

For example, an operator will be able to use different segment’s capacities depending on importance. So, a single user streaming a video would use a different site to a business, while simpler devices could be separated from more complex and demanding applications.

There are also plans to allow businesses to rent their own isolated and insulated network site in order to separate them from competing Internet traffic.

The question here comes to mind does this network is working on large tall towers as 4G does? No.

5G works a bit differently. This upgraded cellular network uses a combination of frequencies from multiple bands to maximize throughput. 5G will also use a large number of much smaller micro-cells for new millimetre-wave spectrum bands to create a blanket of ultrahigh-speed network coverage. So no more high towers are needed. Here two important things which make 5G different from 4G,

  • Capacity

We all have experienced that frustrating moment when you're in a relatively small area with a bunch of people at a concert, sports stadium, or the airport during the holiday travel season and you see the slowing death of cellular network while trying to open a web page or play an Instagram video. We are waiting for uploads, waiting for watch videos while they are not running.

When we talk about capacity 5G technology gain power in it. 5G is expected to solve this issue. It has more capacity than 4G. Thus, that will be not only a better connection for everyone’s phone but also easily can use social media without waiting for anything.

It will make it possible to connect many, many more devices to the network.

  • Latency

Latency is the time between when you send a text to a friend's phone and when their phone registers that it has received a new message. Although latency is measured in milliseconds, all those milliseconds add up when sending and receiving huge packets of information for something as complex as video or self-driving car data.

Latency is already low with 4G, but 5G will make it virtually zero. That will be good for such new innovations as remote real-time gaming helping people in various parts of the world using wireless internet-connected devices play one game and all be on exactly the same page at the same time.

It will be essential for other technologies, such as self-driving cars, which will need to send signals about their environment over the internet to a computer in the cloud, have the computer analyze the situation, and return signals to the car telling it how to respond.

Future Uses Of 5G Technology

  1. 5G in Industrial Automation

The most important benefits of 5G in the industrial automation space are wireless flexibility, reduced costs, and the viability of applications that are not possible with current wireless technology. Industrial automation is in use today, and most likely you have seen videos showing robotics at work in factories and supply chain applications.

Today these applications required cables, as WiFi does not provide the range, mobility, and quality of service required for industrial control, and the latency of today’s cellular technology is too high. With 5G industrial automation applications can cut the cord and go fully wireless, enabling more efficient smart factories.

For example, with industry 40, humans and robots will be able to interact and work together, a machine can lift heavy parts and the worker can attach them. For this to work, the robot needs to be in constant communication with the factory and its surroundings. It has to be mobile, has a complete physical range of motion, and environment sensors. These advances will enable a symbiotic human-machine partnership where each plays the role it does best.

2. 5G in Augmented Reality and in Virtual Reality

As we mention before 5G is famous for its low latency which will make AR and VR applications both immersive and far more interactive. In industrial applications, for example, a technician wearing 5G AR goggles cloud see an overlay of a machine that would identify parts, provide repair instruction, or show parts that are not safe to touch.

The opportunities for highly responsive industrial applications that support complex tasks will be extended. While in business environments, you can have an AR meeting where it appears two people are sitting together in the same room, turning the boring phone or 2D conferences into more interactive 3D gatherings.

Sporting events and experiences will likely be some of the top applications for 5G in the consumer space. Anytime you need to react quickly, such as in a sports training application, here low latency is more important.

If 4G in this condition people wearing 4G LTE goggles were trying to kick a soccer ball, it would be very difficult to correctly time their response, because, by the time their brain has received the input that the ball has come to them, it’s too late right? But here by replacing when 5G goggles, the lower latency enables the receiver to see the ball and kick it back before it passes.

And what if I said that you are able to create your personal and favorite dance partner through using 5G, by holograms, now this what we called entertainment right?

3. Massive IoT Use Cases for 5G

One of the upcoming challenges of IoT will be its explosive growth, worldwide. Statistica predicts that IoT connected devices per human on the planet will increase from the 2 per person today to 10 per person by 2025.

The projected number of connected devices requiring a data connection places demands on the communications infrastructure e.g. cellular, and we talk about cellular towers they badly affect the natural environment, the radio waves and high towers affected the animals too.

We already facing the climate change effects, but when we talk about 5G, in this case, it will minimize this tower issue. How? Well, 5G requires a minimum connection density of 1 million devices for a square kilometer, which means no need for lots of towers.

4. 5G in the Classroom

When we talk about education first it is important to understand why we need 5G in the classroom? “VR” and “AR” are already helping the students by showing a world of reality, where ideas become real and they can explore more things. But 4G here is struggling to clear out the connection due to large trafficking. So how 5G help us?

In this condition provide a better 3D image without stopping, students may tour the human body or visit other planets in VR. with AR they can explore concepts through touch, pinching, and zooming. This is called immersive lessons with AR and VR with the help of 5G.

It will also save the teachers time, setting up devices, and gathering feedback in class takes time even when everything works perfectly. With the IoT on 5G, teachers can automatically log in as soon as they enter the classroom. Menial administrative tasks will be automated, and students can deliver feedback digitally. Higher bandwidth will help signals remain strong throughout entire lectures and presentations, preventing occasional dropped connections and derailing focus.

Every student has a different style and level of learning ability, 5G will help students continue their education outside the classroom, by delivering the same data speeds and responsiveness in the classroom to their phone or laptop. And when its come distance or location 5G empowers students to access the same information and exercise as their peers.

5. 5G in Healthcare

In healthcare, the MRI and other large machine’s medical data of a patient contain high files. These files are when send to from one department to another it takes lots of time like hours and some due to the large size of a file it would able to send. The patient has to wait for a long time for treatment because of this long sending files process.

When 5G will be introduced to healthcare the process will take place in a few mints or seconds. It will be able to transport huge data files, which improve both access to care and the quality of care. Fast data receive, the fast will be treated.

Many healthcare industries are already adopting “Artificial Intelligence(AI)” to determine potential diagnoses and decide on the best treatment plan for a specific patient. Additionally, AI can help predict which patients are more likely to have postoperative complications, allowing healthcare systems to provide early interventions when necessary.

The large amounts of data needed for real-time rapid learning require ultra-reliable and high-bandwidth networks. Additionally, providers often need to access data from their mobile devices. By moving to 5G networks, healthcare organizations can use the AI tools they need to provide the best care possible from wherever they are in the hospital or clinic.

See how 5G will make everything more clear and fast, this what we called be a future is. We can see that time is getting more important in the upcoming years, 5G technology will help us to save time and do productive things without wasting any time.

Conclusion

5G is not only a technology, but it is also more than that. If I said it is like a time-saving machine, it is like getting more productive outputs in the future I am not wrong what do you think? In every field which is important for the survival of humankind e.g. education, healthcare, and other developing industries 5G improve them more and more. Make them easy to access, easy to create more new ways in these fields.
